David Lontine Obituary
David Roger Lontine passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on April 7, 1930, in Longmont, Colorado, to Sabino and Dora Lontine, David was the eldest of ten children. He grew up in Puritan Camp, Colorado, and loved to share stories of his childhood in Puritan and the Tri-Town area.
David graduated from Erie High School in 1947. Shortly after, he joined the US Air Force, proudly serving his country for three years. Following his military service, David worked as a truck driver in his early career. He then dedicated many years to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, where he served on the Dive Team and worked in the crime lab. He concluded his professional career as the Head of Uniformed Security for King Soopers.
In 1958, David married Dahlia Garcia Jaramillo, and together they raised a loving family. He embraced Dahlia's four children, Barbara, Gilda, Larry, and Jerry, as his own. David and Dahlia were later blessed with two more children, David Roger (affectionately known as Stinker) and Terri Ann.
David had a zest for life and enjoyed numerous activities with family and friends, including waterskiing, boating, golfing, skiing, and snowmobiling. After retiring, he devoted much of his time to building his cabin in Pitkin, Colorado. In his later years, David found joy in working in his vegetable and flower gardens, taking special pride in his beautiful Hibiscus shrubs.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his children Barbara (Conrad) Maestas, Gilda (Warren) Hendricks, Larry (Lindy) Jaramillo, Jerry (Marie) Jaramillo, and Terri Ann (Alfonso) Perea; his 12 grandchildren Gina (Paul), Sara, Sean (Amy), Lynette (Tad), Tamra (Tim), Casey (Jamie), Jay, Danielle (Seth), LeighAnn, Britney, Estephan, and Alex; his 18 great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lauren, Callen, Cami, Bella (Connor), Gigi, Sophia, Vincent, Jaxen, Grace, Athena, Azzy, Leia, Adalia, Violet, Aayla, Lilith, and Kennedy; and his siblings John, Everett (Butch), Mabel and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
David is preceded in death by his son David (Stinker), grandson Paul, and siblings Julian, Betty, Leroy, Franklin, Sonny, and Kenny.
A celebration of David's life will be later. Time and date TBD
Rest in peace, David Roger Lontine. Your love and spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
