David Lugg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lada's Cucamonga Mortuary on Dec. 30, 2025.
David Ronald "Dave" Lugg, age 64, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Fontana, California. Born on February 9, 1961, in Riverside, California, Dave lived a life devoted to his family, faith, and many passions. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

A 1979 graduate of Ramona High School in Riverside, Dave played football and discovered a lifelong interest in automotive work and his love for cars. It is there that he met his wife Deborah Konikow, who he married in 1984. He furthered his education at Riverside City College and Citrus College, preparing for a successful career in mold making. Dave began his working life as a paper boy for The Press-Enterprise and later worked at a cabinet shop before dedicating over 25 years to plastic injection mold making. He worked at Reme,S.C. Enterprises, Prestige, Marman Industries and Inland Molds. Known for his skilled hands and resourceful nature, he had a knack for fixing anything and believed every part had a purpose. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Deborah of 41 years, his son Jeffery and Jeffery's wife Breanna; his son Thomas (Tommy) (girlfriend Ariel), his precious daughter Brittany Lugg, his 2 grandchildren Aurora and Seth, and our dog "Lily". He is survived by his Mother- Colleen Lugg of Riverside , a sister, Kathleen McIntyre, and her husband, John, of Riverside.

He will also be deeply missed by his numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave cherished time spent with family. Whether taking a walk, hosting a family gathering or simply being together. He also found great joy in his role as a grandfather and loved spending time with the grandkids.

From age 16, Dave raced cars at the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, competing for 12 years in the hobby stock and NASCAR limited series divisions. He also enjoyed building models, collecting NASCAR memorabilia, and playing the drums. His favorite vacation spot was Kauai. He enjoyed the beach, snorkeling, and the beauty of the island. A devoted member of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, Dave's faith was central to his life. He believed deeply in prayer and was known for remembering people's names so he could pray for them individually. Dave was preceded in death by his father Ronald Edwin Lugg; his sister Barbara Childers; and her husband Patrick Childers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 15, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills 4201 Eucalyptus Ave. Chino, Ca.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
