Joseph Kissel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home - Lake Havasu on Dec. 30, 2025.
Joseph "Joey" Kissel, born on September 22, 1976, in San Diego, California, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joey lived a life defined by curiosity, intelligence, adventure, and an unmistakable love for people, animals, and the water.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Donald and Kate Carmichael, and Stanley and Clara Neugenbauer, who welcomed him with open arms.

Joseph is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Wendy, who nurtured his independence, celebrated his brilliance, and shared in countless memories that will forever live in their hearts.

Joey graduated from Ramona High School in Ramona, California, and went on to attend college, where he studied business. Exceptionally intelligent, he earned a place on the Dean's List and was once recognized by a teacher for his extraordinary ability to read 3,800 words per minute while retaining 98% of the information-a testament to his sharp mind and remarkable focus.

Throughout his career, Joseph worked in industries that reflected his passions. He was part of Super Street Car Magazine and Eagle One Car Products, combining his professional life with his love of racing and automotive culture. He also found joy in hospitality, working with Four Clovers and Havasu Springs, where his natural people skills and warm personality left a lasting impression. Joey was a proud member of a car club, where his enthusiasm for racing and camaraderie shined.

An adventurer at heart, Joseph loved jet skiing, racing, surfing, skateboarding, and BMX biking. His deep connection to the water began early-at just 18 months old, he toddled toward the ocean, leaving footprints his mother still cherishes to this day. His bravery and independence showed even earlier; at only two years old, he wandered off to explore nature on acres of land, sending his father searching-an unforgettable memory that speaks to Joey's fearless spirit.

Joseph had a rare gift for understanding people. He was genuinely likable, approachable, and deeply empathetic. An animal lover, he was known for rescuing strays and giving them loving homes, never turning away a soul in need.

Throughout his life, Joey called many places home, including San Diego and Los Angeles, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. No matter where he lived, he carried with him the same adventurous heart, kind nature, and unmistakable presence.

Joseph "Joey" Kissel will be remembered for his intelligence, courage, compassion, and love for life. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the memories held close by those who loved him.
