Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial funeral mass on Friday June 30th at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach St., Revere for David P. Manning, Sr. who died peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 20th following a long illness, he was 89 years old. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody.
David was born on September 24, 1933, to his late parents, William D. Manning & Blanche G. (Bradshaw) Manning. He was one of six children, raised in East Boston. David was educated in Boston Public Schools and was an alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1951. David enlisted in the United States Air force in September 1951 during the Korean War. He valiantly & proudly served his country. He served overseas and was honorably discharged after providing four years of service. David began to work in the stock market for the beginning part of his career, he later took a position with Polaroid Corp. as a Financial Analyst, his career spanned over 20 years. During this time, David was married to his wife, Carol (McCormack), they wed on June 11, 1960. They lived briefly in East Boston, before moving to Revere in 1963. David was always most proud of building his family home with his brother in-law for his family. He was a loving husband & proud father of his three children. He thoroughly enjoyed working on his house and maintaining the property. He loved being with his family more than anything else.
He is the beloved husband of 63 years to Carol M. (McCormack) Manning of Revere. The loving father of David P. Manning, Jr. & wife Debra of Point of Pines in Revere, Julie A. Manning of Revere & the late Kathleen J. Manning. The cherished grandfather of the late Melissa Ashley Manning. The dear brother of the late Alice O'Neill, Ruth Miraglia, William D. Manning, Paul Manning, & Joanne C. Colantone. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews. Please omit flowers, remembrances may be made to the Immaculate Conception School, 127 Winthrop Ave., Revere, MA 02151. The staff at Vertuccio Smith & Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals are most honored to have assisted the family in completing funeral arrangements.
