David C. Manning, of North Manchester, peacefully passed away on July 31, 2024, in the presence of his beloved wife at the age of 95. He was born on January 27, 1929, in Crawfordsville, IN to Joseph and Marie (Booher) Manning. On April 28, 1948, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Silveus.
A dedicated individual, David worked for NIPSCO for 38 years before retiring in 1989. During his life, David cultivated various interests including farming and the restoration of antique automobiles. He was also a steadfast member of the Walnut Creek United Methodist Church. His commitment to these passions brought joy not only to himself but also to those around.
David is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Phyllis Manning; sons Steve (Jerilyn) and Denny (Pat) Manning; grandchildren, Jessi (Lauren Jackson) Manning, Megan Manning, Stacey (Jason) Fry, Katie (Loren) Hubbard, Mark (Katie) Manning, Jenny (Adamu) Izang, and Laura (Ben) Laborde; and 15 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Elli, Clark, Graham, Ruthie, Bekah, Josiah, Zachariah, Anap, Ayisa, Luka, Ikozi, Chloe, Colt, and Juliet.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter Stephanie, and siblings, Charlette, Richard, and Phyllis.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with David’s care. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from10:00 AM to 11:00 AM immediately followed by the funeral service with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. David will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery privately.
