David R. Marach

David R. Marach, age 84, of Woodruff, Wisconsin, passed away on January 23, 2023 at Howard Young Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1938 to parents, Edwin and Yolanda (Joszwiak) Marach in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1957. On April 8,1961, Dave married Carol Paulsen at St. Priscilla's church in Chicago.
Dave was a skilled draftsman, and was employed as an engineer at Underwriters Safety Device in Chicago for over 30 years. He had several patents, most notably designed for use in Bayliner Boats and Bussman fuses. He was able to live out his dreams and retire to northern Wisconsin where he was able to enjoy nature, fishing and golf for many years. While living in northern Wisconsin, he and his wife, Carol delivered Meals on Wheels and he worked part-time for a golf course.
Dave cherished his friends, many of whom he had since childhood. He spoke fondly of his days working at USD and of his former supervisors and coworkers. He loved telling stories and making people laugh.
David is survived by his wife, Carol Marach; children, Mike (Sharon) Marach, Jeff (Sara) Marach, Chris (Skye) Marach and Susan (Rob) Kerschke; brother, Mike (Pat) Marach; grandchildren, Caitlin, Allison, Camryn, Amanda, Jeffrey, Alec, Cora, Ryne, Brendan, Noelle and Carson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Marach and Yolanda (Marach) Edwards; father and mother-in law, LeRoy and Harriet Paulsen; and brother, Ed Marach.
The family is planning a small gathering for Dave's family and close friends to celebrate his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
