MARKEE, David Elliott – of Burton, MI, age 82, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Monday, September 22, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. David was born in Goodrich, MI on March 1, 1943, son of the late Alvy and Louise (Gabriel) Markee. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School Class of 1961. David went on to lead a distinguished career as an electrician, first with Local #948 and later as co-owner of Markee Electric in Flint, MI. Through his work, David touched the lives of many, building lasting relationships with his colleagues and customers, and always striving for excellence in every project. He was an avid golfer, finding joy on the greens, whether in friendly competition or simply enjoying the game with friends and family. His love for sports extended to his unwavering support of his Detroit teams-the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings-and the Michigan State Spartans. But above all, David's greatest joy came from his family. He could often be found cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren's baseball games, offering encouragement, love, and always showing up with a smile. David's legacy will be defined not only by his hard work and professional accomplishments but also by his devotion to his family. He was the epitome of a loving husband, an attentive father, and an incredibly proud grandfather. David's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his example of integrity, work ethic, and devotion will continue to inspire us all.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Markee; 2 children, Steve (Blanca) Markee and Todd (Misti) Markee; 3 grandchildren, Tyler (Madison) Markee, Jack (Grace) Markee and Allison (C.J. Gover) Markee; sister, Judy (Ken) Tippitt; sister-in-law, Alice Markee; childhood friends, Dan and Sylvia Foran; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvy and Louise Markee; 4 siblings, Wannie (Amos) Gary, Jean (Bud) Key, James (Dodie) Markee and Don Markee.
