David J Marsala, age 82, left his worldly life on June 3, 2025. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on August 19, 2025 at All Veterans Funeral Home, 1020 E Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO. Burial will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
David was born in Westfield, NY on August 19, 1942. He grew up and attended school in Erie, PA. David was the son of John P Marsala and Carrie A Ameno Marsala, the husband of Carolyn L Crowe Marsala, father of Philip S Marsala, Carrie M Marsala, and Andrea S Marsala-Price, grandfather of Jacob B Anthony, John P Marsala II, Nicholas M Corcoran, Alexis R Corcoran, and Claire O Sayers. He will be greeted by his parents and his older brother Charles A Marsala and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws in his heavenly life. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Carolyn Marsala, his three children, great grandchildren Maddie, Grayson, Emma and Tatum, son-in-law Aaron Price, granddaughter-in-law Tayler Anthony, Philip's fiancee Cynthia Kersey and her family, his younger brother Lawrence Marsala and his wife Debby and their sons Stephan and Joseph, and the family of Charles Marsala.
David joined the USAF when he graduated from high school and served for twenty years and six months. He was stationed at Grand Forks AFB, ND, Nikolski AFS Alaska, Ent AFB CO, North Camp Drake, Japan, Luke AFB AZ, Kunsan AFB Korea, Davis-Monthan AFB AZ, USAF Academy CO, and RAF Fairford England. Upon retiring from the USAF, David worked for twenty-seven years as a civilian in the USAF Academy.
He loved reading every James Patterson book written, loved volunteering at One Nation Walking Together, loved football, wrestling, muscle cars (a certain1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS comes to mind) peanut butter on almost anything, and really loved his spaghetti and meatballs. He was a quiet, humble and kind man who loved his family and friends. David will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Dave was an incredible friend and Father-in-Law to me. We shot baskets most every night, watched football, did projects, went to the movies, and just hung out as two ex-Air Force guys would. My time with Dave helped shape me as a young man. The conversations that we had were very seamless, he was super easy to talk with. The memories of Dave will always have a place in my heart. My condolences to the family.
