David Randall Mason

David Randall Mason passed away on Tuesday morning, February 3, at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his father, John "Big Boy" Mason, and by his mother, Kathleen Mason as well as his brother Kenneth Mason all of Lanett, Alabama. He is survived by his sisters Frances Godwin and Kathy Richardson along with nieces and nephews all in Valley, Alabama.

David was the beloved husband of Shelia Mason, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Randy Mason and his wife Beth, and Lamar Mason and his wife Jamie, all of McDonough. David was also a proud and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren--Dillon, Brennan, Logan, Mallory, Carley, Layla, and Jordyn---each of whom he cherished deeply.

A native of Lanett, Alabama, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and was a Vietnam veteran. His service reflected a deep sense of duty and quiet strength that carried through every part of his life.

David retired after many years of dedicated work with SKC and Atlantic Steel. He was a faithful member of Wesley Way United Methodist Church in McDonough, Georgia, where he found a spiritual home.

In his free time, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved golfing, hunting, and fishing-moments often shared with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

A service to celebrate David's life will be held on Sunday, February 8, at Wesley Way United Methodist Church in McDonough, Georgia. Visitation will take place from 1:30 P. M. to 2:30 P.M., with services officiated by Pastor Michelle Strall.

David will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his service to his country, and a quiet, enduring presence he brought to the lives of all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, David's love and presence will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
