David Wayne Mathews

David Wayne Mathews, 71, of Brookfield, Missouri, passed away on December 4, 2025, at Life Care Nursing Center in Brookfield. He was born on October 31, 1954, to Junior Glen Mathews and Freda Ilene (Scott) Mathews. David was known for his free-spirited personality and the way he embraced life without letting anything hold him back. He enjoyed socializing with friends, motorcycle riding, and watching western movies-simple pleasures that brought him joy throughout the years. David is survived by his daughter, Quandy White and her husband Anthony of Carlisle, Iowa; two granddaughters, including Aubrey and Callie White and two brothers, Steve Mathews and wife Susie of Ozark, Arkansas, and James Mathews and wife Michelle of Perry, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Ina Mathews and one brother, Michael Mathews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Croix Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
