David "Corey" McChesney, 52, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born April 16, 1973, Corey lived boldly, with an adventurous spirit, a quick wit, and a gift for bringing inspiration to everyone he met.

Corey embraced life with energy and humor. He loved adaptive water and snow skiing, skydiving (47 jumps), and marathon wheelchair racing in cities across the country, including Boston, Chicago, and Columbus. He lived his life without boundaries, and even played football at Reynoldsburg Youth Football League. Whether crossing a finish line or sharing a laugh with friends, Corey lived every moment with heart and determination.

He was married and survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Crystal McChesney- a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support- stepfather Lance McCartney, sister Carrie Klyaic, aunts and uncles Donald McChesney and Kenneth McChesney, cousins Angy Schuetz, Blaine McChesney, Robert McChesney, and Matthew McChesney, many beloved nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends whose friendships enriched his life.

Corey joins in heaven his mother, Connie McCartney, along with his McChesney, McCartney, and Schindler grandparents.

We invite you to celebrate Corey's life and legacy on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10 am at Lexington Cemetery, E. Main St., Lexington, Ohio 44904.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions toward funeral costs and final arrangements. Donations may be made directly to the family at Snyder Funeral Home (Lexington) or to organizations supporting individuals with Spina Bifida and other causes close to Corey's heart.
