It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Lloyd McCusker on April 5, 2025, at the age of 59 in Salt Lake City, Utah. David was born May 26, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lloyd C. and Roxanna J. McCusker.
David attended school at St Ann's Catholic school, Hawthorne Elementary, Glendale Middle School and South High.
David worked for J. B. Kelly in Tucson, Arizona as Shop Foreman from 1993 to 1997. He then moved back to Salt Lake where he worked for Ames Construction, from 1998 to 2021, and Wheeler Machinery, from 2022 to 2025, as a Field Mechanic. David was a highly skilled heavy equipment mechanic, known for his expertise and dedication to his craft. He was a member of Operator Engineers Local 3.
David developed his love for drag racing at R.M.R. with his brother, Jeff, while working at Pappy's Service Station on the corner of 5th East & 2100 South. David had a passion for camping, gardening, and watching racing. His hobbies reflected his love for speed and the outdoors, bringing joy and excitement to his life and those around him.
