On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Keith Aldon Rosevear passed away with his wife and children by his side. He was 90 years old. He is now free from pain, but will be sorely missed.
Keith was born on July 31, 1935 to Edgar John and Norma Cushing Rosevear in
Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up alongside his older brother, Jerry.
He grew up in the Salt Lake Valley where he developed a lifelong love for sports. As a young man, he played basketball and excelled at track. Throughout his life, Keith continued to love and play sports. He played volleyball and ping pong and his kids loved to watch him play. He stood out for his athleticism, dedication and competitive spirit.
In his young adult years, he worked as a driver for the owner of Auerbach's, where his mother was a buyer for the store. It was there that he met the love of his life, Geraldine Roberts. They were married June 3, 1955. During this time, he attended the University of Utah and enlisted in the Air National Guard, proudly serving for 9 years. Later in his career, he worked for the State of Utah as a chief cartographer, making maps of the state. He enjoyed his job and did it with dedication and pride for 32 years before retiring.
Keith was an avid fisherman and hunter. He found great joy in the outdoors. His favorite places to fish were the Salmon River and Flaming Gorge. He also spent time as a fishing guide in Alaska. He cherished camping times with his family. He was a true outdoorsman at heart. He especially loved hunting for arrowheads in his favorite place, Beaver, Utah - where many meaningful memories were made. A tradition he passed down to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the later years of his life, he developed a deep love for making his own arrowheads. Through this craft, he shared not only his skill, but his creativity and love for history- leaving behind memories that will be cherished for generations.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married his sweet, beautiful wife, Gerrie in the Salt Lake Temple and they built a life centered on family and church. They were married for 70 years. He is survived by his wife, Gerrie, his 5 children: Lori (Jonathan) Sorensen, Todd (Patti) Rosevear, Lisa (Mark) Balle, Tana Rosevear, Hollie (Bryan) Nuttall; 22 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and his grand dog, Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerald, his grandson-in-law Logan, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 11:00 am at the Taylorsville Stake Center, 4845 South Woodhaven Drive, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway and Wednesday at the church, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, Taylorsville, Utah.
