David (Dave) Earl McHenry, a cherished community figure and a devoted family man, passed away in Cheyenne, Wyoming on December 8, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on February 15, 1940, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dave lived a life rich with love, service, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A proud Navy veteran, Dave served for 20 years as a corpsman, where he not only honed his skills in caring for others but also met the love of his life, Margaret Beinick. Their love story blossomed during his service, encapsulating a profound bond that endured until her passing. Together, they created a legacy built on compassion and unwavering support for their family and community.
Dave’s personality was nothing short of infectious. He loved his family deeply and held a special affection for his extended family. His commitment to helping others was evident in his active involvement with various community organizations, where he tirelessly worked to improve the lives of those around him. One of his passions was the local Toys for Tots program, which earned him the affectionate nickname "Rescue Ranger." This moniker reflected Dave’s spirit of selflessness, as he dedicated countless hours ensuring that children in need experienced the joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Deborah Trojovsky (Tim), sons, Robin McHenry (Angie), Sean McHenry (Andrea), sister Jane Wostenberg and Lindajo Hayes. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Erin Sutter (Jeff), Kathryn Shrove (Brent), Kyle McHenry (Alexandria), David Bellis (Wendy), Sarah McHenry (Gabe McDonald), and Ivy McHenry, along with eight precious great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Though Dave is reunited with his beloved wife, Margaret McHenry, his mother and father, and his two brothers in eternal peace, he leaves behind a family whose lives he enriched immeasurably. Those who had the fortune of knowing him are left with treasured memories of his warmth, determination, and love.
David Earl McHenry will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched through his kindness and dedication to service.
