David Lee McIntyre

David Lee McIntyre, age 83, of North East, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the VA Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on November 16, 1939, son of the late J. Dorsey and Anna (Dornberger) McIntyre.
David was a graduate of McDowell High School. He served in the US Navy on the USS Marias during the Vietnam War. When the United Parcel Service first came to Erie, David worked as their Center Manager. He then worked for WQLN for 36 years until his retirement as Chief Engineer. David was a member of the American Legion North East Post #105 and Carl Neff Post #571, where he was an active volunteer with the Honor Guard. He enjoyed electronics of all kinds. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying camping, hiking, and kayaking.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen A. (Krauss) McIntyre; four children: Debra Michele McIntyre, Shelly Renee Wood, David Alan McIntyre (Lisa), and Tracy McIntyre Denning (Greg); sister, Patti McIntyre; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, John Robert Dornberger.
Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek) on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 2 PM until the time of a veterans' prayer service at 7:30 PM conducted by Joe Gullo, Chaplain. Military Honors will follow rendered by the American Legion North East Post #105 and American Legion Carl Neff Post #571. David will be laid to rest at the Pittsburgh National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
