Yvonne Sarah "Ema" Doerr

Yvonne Sarah Johnson Doerr, age 90, was raptured into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Yvonne was born in Erie, PA on September 19, 1935, daughter of the late Robert Johnson and Elizabeth Hilbert Johnson.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Lori (Tom) Hesch, Bob (Joy) Doerr, Doug (Bobbi) Doerr, Melissa Zdunski, and Martin (Tine) Hessberger and their children Steffen, Sven, and Britta of Germany; eleven grandchildren, Julie (Jim Konzel) Schaefer, Kristin Hesch, Bobby (Candace) Doerr, Sarah (Jered) Gossage, TJ (Emily) Hesch, Beth (Nolan) Phearsdorf, Kara (Dave) Suscheck, Lars (Kara) Doerr, Jamie Zdunski, Rebekah Doerr and her fiancé, Stevie Crockett, and Sam Zdunski and his fiancée, Abbey Bordone; and 16 great-grandchildren, Lauren McCurdy, Ailyn Schaefer, Robbie, Isla and Everett Doerr, Ryan, Alisson, and Kayla Gossage, Cecelia, George and Adalynn Hesch, Lillian, Anna and Lachlan Suscheck, Gianna Crockett, and Tobias Doerr; one brother, Ronald Johnson of East Rochester, OH; brother-in-law, Thomas Morse; sister-in-law, Lucille Yeaney of Erie; step-grandchildren, Rory Houser, Samantha See, Tabetha Sandberg and Ryan Houser; along with many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Lawrence Howard Doerr; and their youngest son, James Christopher Doerr, her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Hilbert Johnson; and her sister, Ruth Johnson Morse.

Yvonne graduated from Academy High School Class of 1953. She married Lawrence Doerr on August 8, 1953. They have five children whom she cared for many years prior to working for Erie Insurance as an Executive Administrative Assistant. She attended Wesley Church and more recently, Grace Church and served many years with Koinonia. She served on mission teams to include Four Corners, New Mexico and Hurricane Andrew in Florida. Yvonne was always busy making things for her children and grandchildren. She loved crafting of all sorts, crocheting, knitting mittens and scarves, sewing doll clothes, Christmas tree skirts and aprons, and creating beautiful hand painted crafted pieces. Yvonne loved her flower gardens and birds of all sorts. She would take you around her yard and show you name by name all the different flowers. She devoted her time to being a Girl Scout Leader and made camping fun!

Yvonne was loved so much by her family and so many dear friends. More than anything Yvonne loved Jesus and spent her life witnessing to everyone she would meet about His love and salvation. She would want everyone to know of Jesus' love for you and to trust Him completely by asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. She led many Bible Studies for women of all ages and led many people to the Lord. Surely God will say to her "well done, good and faithful servant." She will be so deeply missed by all of us.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.) on Tuesday, February 10th, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Grace Church Harborcreek, on Wednesday, February 11th at 10 am.
