Scott Barringer

Scott Barringer, age 68, of Erie Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Scott was born on July 15, 1957, the son of the late C. Thomas and Joyce Barringer.

Scott graduated from Iroquois High School in 1975 and attended Penn State Behrend before graduating from Mercyhurst College. Scott spent many years in sales for Erie Beer Company, a role that suited him perfectly. Through his work, he met countless people, built lasting relationships, and genuinely enjoyed connecting with others. Scott touched the lives of many, seemingly knowing someone everywhere he went.

A passionate sports fan, Scott proudly cheered for all things Pittsburgh and had a lifelong love for Boston Celtics basketball. He could often be found watching a game with friends at Irish Cousins, enjoying live music, good conversation, and the camaraderie that meant so much to him. Known for always being prepared, Scott liked having a plan and a schedule – ready for whatever the day might bring. Scott also had a special place in his heart for the dogs in his life, who brought him constant companionship and happiness.

Above all else, Scott loved spending time with his grandchildren. Whether close to home in Erie or traveling to visit them in Pittsburgh and Dallas, time with his grandkids was what mattered most to him. Those moments, big and small, were among his greatest joys.

Scott will be remembered for his warmth, his loyalty to those he loved, and the way he showed up for family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in the many lives he touched.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Sarah Learn (Ryan); his two sons: Dan Barringer (Becca) and Steven Barringer (Cristy); and his grandchildren: Molly Learn, RJ Learn, Iyla Barringer, Isabel Barringer, Gabriel Barringer, and Julian Barringer. Scott is also survived by his brother, Tom Barringer (Angela); his former wife, Karen Barringer; and his dear friend, Cheryl "Bird" Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Becky Barringer.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd.) on Wednesday, February 18th from 2 PM until the time of the service at 6 PM.
