Jeffrey Spangler

Jeffrey Scott Spangler, 44, formerly of Erie but recently of Cincinnati, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born in Erie on April 4, 1981, a son of Eugene L. Spangler and Sandra J. (Strattan) Spangler.

Jeffrey was a 1999 graduate of Iroquois High School and went on to attend the Erie Institute of Technology, where he specialized in electronics. Early in his career, he played a role in helping install machines at the casino during its original construction. He later worked for many years as a biomedical technician with DaVita, followed by his position with Bell and Howell as a subcontractor at Erie Insurance. In 2022, Jeff relocated to Cincinnati, where he continued his work with Bell and Howell. A devoted New England Patriots fan, Jeff loved watching football, playing golf with his son, listening to music, and enjoying a great meal. He was a hardworking man who took immense pride in his work and cared deeply for his family, especially his son. One of his greatest joys was becoming a grandfather just a year ago to his beloved granddaughter, Clara. A few years ago, he proudly fulfilled a lifelong dream of purchasing his dream car, a Subaru WRX. There was truly no one quite like Jeff.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his son, Bailey S. Ryan (Makenzie); granddaughter, Clara Ryan; sister, Michelle Callahan (Charles); nephew, Brandon Spangler; niece, Shelby Folmar; great niece, Caleah Steger; uncles, Robert Spangler (Angie) and James Spangler (Ann); aunt, Sandra Reed (John); and many cousins and close friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Spangler.
