Dave...had a lot of good stories about you and me while working together.

For those who don't know, Dave was our bomb technician. Once I had a call in the southwest section of Boca concerning a gentleman who had found an old WWII explosive device. Called Dave over and we took it out west to a wooded area. Dave placed the device about 50 yards downrange and with his revolver fired a round at it. Just clipped the top and nothing happened. Not sure that was part of his training and can't remember what we finally did with it.

Needless to say, had some interesting times while working with Dave. In any event if you are reading this Dave, I'm still down here thinking about you and your adventures. Hope you are RIP, and your family is doing well...

Hard to believe it has been six years. Read someplace that most folks are forgotten after two generations but somehow Dave I think you will be remembered long after that.

If there is a heaven, you are surely there looking down on your family and watching your grandchildren grow up. Talk to you again next year and will be looking for that smile.

Bubba was a wonderful cousin who I respected and loved. His Dad and our Dad were brothers; James and Wesley Messer Sr. They had two sisters Bertie Messer Suggs and Lillian Messer Pippen. Children of Janes and Lucy Messer. RIP Bubba. My condolences to the family.

Lauren, I am so glad that I got to see Bubba again and to meet you at the SHS class of '62 50th reunion.

I have to agree with what everyone else is saying, "He was always a gentlemen and such fun to be around".

My deepest sympathy to you and the family.

My dear cousin Bubba shared a birthday with my Dad, his Uncle Stormy (who gave him his middle name "Somuelo"). After some devastating losses, I was so happy when he found Lauren and that he spent his last years very happy with her and all his grand and great-grand kids. To Lauren, and Jeff and Katie and their families and kids, I am so very sorry for your loss.

I worked as a dispatcher at the long ago disbanded Cooperative Dispatch Center, housed at Boca PD. Dave was a great guy to work with, truly a cool customer in crisis situations. And yes, one of the funniest people I ever met. Rest in peace Dave.

The smile...always the smile. David had a smile that still comes to mind, even now. He was raised to have standards and dignity and respect for others. We first met on the Hills of Seacrest High School in the early 60's and our friendship continued over the years both professionally and personally. You will be missed by all who came your way.

Dave and I were friends from the first grade through high school and beyond. I fondly remember Dave's comment as we trekked back to camp from deer hunting in the Corbet area - "Cheer up we are almost half way there" His great jokes and stories around the camp fire at night were always the highlight of the trips. You will be missed my longest friend. Don't forget to put your initials on your hunting vest - inside joke.

Hey Lt.Dave....you could always bring a smile to my face. Haven't seen you in a while but have often thought of you. Still get a chuckle about the time you rescued me and Don Osberg from that rattlesnake. Probably told that story a dozen times....one of my favorites. RIP...

Dave brought a smile to everyone. Especially around Christmas when he'd have a wreath on his jeep(?) that flashed when he braked. I'm sure he and Don are telling tales right now.

I am deeply sadden and shocked to hear of the passing of my friend. Dave certainly was one of a kind. He was one of the two guys I hung out with in high school. The three of us could always be found walking around Seacrest HS during our lunch hour. He will be missed.
