David Midkiff, 73, of Annapolis, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was born September 23, 1952, in Annapolis, Missouri, to the late Harry and Dorcy Midkiff.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Maria (Vance) Midkiff; his daughter, Rose Ann Midkiff; his granddaughter, Angel Dawn Midkiff; and eight siblings: Charles Edward Midkiff, Belle (Bone-Coy) Midkiff, John Paul Midkiff, Ronald Lee Midkiff, James Arthur Leo Castlie, Ruth Naomi (Midkiff) Gollaher, Harry Inman Midkiff, Jr. and Beverly Ann (Funk-Vance) Midkiff.
David is survived by his five children: Patricia (Robert) Killian, Angela Midkiff, John (Ashley) Hartley II, Jacob (Toni) Hartley, and Charles Hartley. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Andrew (Jennifer) Midkiff, Olivia Killian, Emma Killian, Lilly Killian, Carson Hartley, Nickolas Hartley, Allie Hartley, Michelle Helms, and Emmaline Yates; and five great-grandchildren: Kayden Midkiff, Alaynna Midkiff, Faithlynn Midkiff, Waylon Midkiff and Raelynn Harrison.
He is survived by four siblings: Earl (Anna Lou) Midkiff, Mae Staples, Olen (Linda) Midkiff, and Sharon Lloyd, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
David loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he could often be found fishing, riding horses, or tending to his garden—always making sure the rows were perfectly straight. David was also a proud member of the Steelworkers Union Local 7033.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Homes– Bryson Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. with Reverend Fred Killian officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Homes-Bryson Chapel in Pilot Knob, Missouri.
