Ancel Tripp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cole Family Funeral Home - Ironton on Jan. 22, 2026.
Ancel Alexander Tripp, of Ironton, MO, entered Heaven on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 90 years and 25 days. He was born December 27, 1935, in Pilot Knob, MO, a son of the late Oscar and Odessa (Vance) Tripp.

On September 2, 1956, Ancel was united in marriage to Carolyn Lewis who preceded him in rest on October 14, 1999. To this union four children were born, Steve Tripp of Farmington, MO, Brian Tripp and wife Carol of Greenwood, MO, Kevin Tripp and wife Lisa of Perryville, MO, and Heather Reed and husband Derek of Washington, MO, all of whom survive. Also surviving Ancel are ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Gerald Tripp and wife Jan of Pilot Knob, MO, and Joe Tripp of Arcadia, MO; two sisters, Pat Henry of Florida, and Vallery Muncie of Greencastle, IN; his special friend, Alana, and many more loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in rest by his parents, his Wife Carolyn, two brothers, Paul and Dick Tripp, and a sister Roxie Tripp.

Ancel graduated from Ironton High School in 1955, married the love of his life, Carolyn, and began a life that was full of love, family, dedication, and service. He was an accomplished and master carpenter, working for himself as a general contractor to provide for his growing family. He was always busy, never sitting still, and as active a community member as you could ask for. He was on countless boards in the Arcadia Valley, several including Arcadia Valley Memorial Park, the Signer Senior Center, the Frederick Terrace Apartments board, and anything he could do for his church, the Ironton First Church of the Nazarene.

Ancel would also stay busy helping his friends and family doing anything he could do. He believed in helping your neighbor, he believed in community betterment, he believed in loving his family to the very best of his ability, and he believed in the good in people. He was a man all could look up to and be proud to call him son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Ancel Alexander Tripp will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Funeral Home.

Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm.
