David Mimms Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiley Funeral Home - Granbury on Mar. 13, 2026.
David E. Mimms Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by his family at home. David was born on December 4, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, and spent his life in Glen Rose, Texas.

He lived a life defined by hard work, dedication to his family, and strong faith in God. David was a quiet man, often appearing tough on the outside, but those who knew him best understood the depth of his love. He was steady, dependable, and the kind of man who showed his love through his actions rather than his words. He loved the outdoors and found joy in farming, fishing, and hunting. Above all, he loved God and his family, and he showed that love through the life he lived every day.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Mimms of Glen Rose; his mother, Oleta Mimms of Fort Worth; and his brother, William Mimms of Glen Rose.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Mimms; his children, David Mimms Jr. and wife Kim, and Monica Morris and husband Rickey; his granddaughter, Brittney Mills and husband Cory; and his great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Brynlee, Carson, and Aaron, along with extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

David will be remembered for his strong character, his unwavering faith, and the steady presence he provided to those around him. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 PM at Squaw Creek Cemetery.
