David Charles Modisett was born to the union of Printis Sr. and Rudesta Modisett on December 12, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan. David departed this life on, Novemeber 7, 2024.
David was a graduate of Airport High School in 1978. After graduation, he was employed with The Grand Trunk Railroad in Flatrock, Michigan, from 1978 through 1992. After meeting Gwendolyn Duhart, David moved to Toledo and the two were united in marriage on, July 14, 1992. To this union, one daughter, Amyre was born. He was a devoted and loving husband and father.
After relocating to Toledo, he was employed at Famous Supply Company for over ten years and was most recently employed with Toledo Tool and Die Company until his death.
David's hobbies included playing basketball and horseshoes. He also enjoyed going to the Casino, spending time time with family, gardening with his wife and playing cards. He was also a grill master who treasured summer barbeque's with his family. Overall, David was an easy-going, fun loving man who treated everyone equal with respect and kindness. He will be truly missed by everyone who he encountedered during his lifetime.
David was preceded in death by both parents, Printis Sr. and Rudesta Modisett; 3 brothers, Calvin, Melvin and Cedric Modisett; a sister, Rena Modisett and a nephew, Darryl Modisett, Jr.
David leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Gwendolyn "Baby Doll"; daughter, Amyre; 3 brothers, Printiss (Margarita) Modisett, Jr. of Alabama, Andre Dupree Modisett, of Detroit, Michigan and Darryl Henry (Carolyn) Modisett of Georgia; 3 sisters, Pristine Modesett, Jewell Dean (Robert) Payne and Rugena Modisett of Toledo, Ohio; our additional family, The Greens; bonus brothers, Oscar Jones, Joseph and Christopher Koger and Robert Warden and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
