David Molaison Obituary

David Wallace Molaison Sr., 70, of Hammond, LA, passed away on March 23, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. David was born on January 11, 1953 to David and Edna Molaison in New Orleans, LA. David wore many hats in his life and always did the best that he could at each task. He was a New Orleans musician and played his part in many bands including The Dixieland Swingers, The Smoke Band, The Really Cooking Band, Jerry Evans Club Band and Frankie and the Cruisers where he gained his nickname for life "Norman." Later in life David went on to become a licensed horticulturist where he served at the New Orleans Country Club. As he was leaving the New Orleans Country Club he moved on to his next venture. David opened "A Lil School of Music" where he taught others about his love for music. In his retirement he took on the hat of paper carrier. He spent his nights throwing papers, listening to music and doing what he did best, making people smile. In his free time he loved spending quality time with his family and gardening. David met the love of his life Danette Molaison on December 18, 1993 and married later in life. The two were each other's lifelong companions and the best of friends. They shared their life with their three children David (Rebecca) Molaison Jr., Rebecca (Lance) Keller, Georgia (Elizabeth) Luke; nine grandchildren; Michelle Mendivil, Kennedy Molaison, Kaitlyn (David) Chu, David Miller, David Molaison, Daniel Molaison, Nikolai Keller, Rory Keller, Lily Keller; and three great-grandchildren; Jocelynn Carpenter, Caidence Carpenter and Daisie Vigil. He was preceded in death by his father David OBell Molaison and Edna Mae Molaison. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
