Craig Molaison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Dec. 27, 2024.
Craig Joseph Molaison, born on January 23, 1953 in New Orleans, and raised in Houma, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones in Lafayette, Louisiana at age 71 after a battle with complications related to a double lung transplant he received in October of 2023.
He is survived by his sons William (Marianne), Logan, and Justin; his cherished grandson August; and his four brothers Ricky (Barbara), Roger (Brandi), John (Chris), and Bryan (Kathleen) Molaison as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Richard and Virginia Molaison
Craig spent his childhood and young adult life in Houma with his parents and four brothers. A talented athlete, Craig played baseball for Vandebilt Catholic High School from 1968 to 1971. His team achieved the honor of becoming state champions in 1971. He continued his baseball career at Nicholls State University as first baseman, where he contributed to a conference championship victory in 1974. He then moved to Lafayette to start a business and family where he remained until his passing. Beyond his athletic achievements, Craig found joy in hunting, fishing, playing golf, and cooking-pastimes that reflected his love for the outdoors and sharing good times with others. Professionally, Craig excelled in transportation sales for over three decades, a successful career that allowed him to connect with countless people, build lasting relationships, and show a strong work ethic for his sons to follow.
In his later years, Craig devoted much of his time to swimming and playing with his grandson August, having cookouts (sometimes cook offs) with friends and family, hunting and traveling with his sons, and golfing with his brothers. He created many precious memories that will be treasured by those who loved him. Known for his generosity and warmth, Craig was a man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His infectious smile brought light to everyone in his presence and he always had a new (or old) joke to tell.
Craig's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love for his family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
Services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory in Broussard, LA. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed immediately by the memorial service.

I will miss you my friend. Called him because I thought he was safety. We had a working relationship after that. He could always count on me if I was available. He was a great man for America Eagle. I saw the big bridge. If I can share the video he sent me, I will. Love ya brother.
