NORFOLK - A Celebration of Life gathering for David A. "Dave" Monroe, 65, a resident of 86 Brothers Road, Norfolk, will be held at the Norwood American Legion on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2:00pm. Dave passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, November 9, 2025 at his home. Dave is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tammy, Norfolk; his five children, Eleanor "Ellie" Moniere, Norwood; Heaven and Brian Simons, Norfolk; Rebecca Monroe (Seth), Massena; Brad "BJ" and Kaye Sharlow, Norfolk and Jody Rousaw, Madrid; his beloved eight grandchildren, Avery Sharlow (Derek); Kylie and Brittany Pensinger; Briel Moniere (Zachary); Cheyann Moniere (Brett); Makiah Moniere (Joey); Brendan Bombard (Starr); Jo-Jo Rousaw and Charlotte Simons; seven great-grandchildren and nine siblings and many nieces and nephews. Dave was pre-deceased by his parents Phillip and Eleanor, an infant son, David Jr., a son-in-law, DJ Moniere and five siblings.
Born in Potsdam, NY on June 17, 1960 as one of fifteen children to the late Phillip and Eleanor (Deon) Monroe, Dave attended St. Lawrence Central High School and married Tammy L. Koen on July 19, 2003. Dave worked as an Electrical Supervisor for Triad Electric in Baton Rouge, LA for over 25 years, retiring in 2021. He was a member of the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, hunting, and had a love for old cars- especially his Ford mustang, but found his most enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always put his family first. Memorial Donations in Dave's memory can be made to Norfolk Volunteer Rescue Squad. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com. The Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk is serving the family of David A. "Dave" Monroe.
