Linda LaFleur Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buck Funeral Home, Inc - Norfolk on Dec. 4, 2025.
NORFOLK - Private funeral services for Linda Irene LaFleur, 82, of 8524 State Rt. 56, Norfolk, will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk, with Pastor Judith VanKennen presiding. Burial will follow the service at the Raymondville Cemetery. Linda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family early Sunday morning, November 30, 2025 at her home.

Born on June 1, 1943, in Potsdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Doris Laiton McGlaughlin and graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1961. On July 18, 1964, she married Dennis LaFleur, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he was stationed. She was affectionately known as "Lyn" to her high school friends, "Nan/Nanny" to most, "Mom" to some and "Wife" to one, Linda was a woman of many names, yet her personality never waivered. Consistently, she was a woman crafted of the warmest sunshine and sweetest smile. Linda breathed life into every room she entered and her absence was noticed when left. For 38 years, Linda worked as a dedicated secretary at Barrett Paving Materials in Norwood as well as working alongside her husband. She was known for her reliability, her strong work ethic, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Linda found great joy in gardening and flowers, and she cherished every moment spent with her family-especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had an immeasurable love for animals and family. Everyone was always first before her, no matter what struggles she was facing on her own. Selfless, fearless and deeply caring, Linda LaFleur was one in a billion, people and places were made better by her touch and she will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the beauty she cultivated both in her gardens and in the lives of those she touched. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dennis; a son, Darron LaFleur of Norfolk; her daughter, Kimberly LaFleur of Camden, South Carolina; her beloved five grandchildren, Justin, Logan, Damion, Brad, and Hannah; and five great-grandchildren, Ja?eden, Layla, Addison, Kylie and Ava. She also leaves behind her special niece and nephews, April, Kevin and Kirk. Linda was pre-deceased by her parents and a brother, Allen McGlaughlin. Those wishing to honor Linda's memory may make donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or to any local Humane Society and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
