David Lewis Morgan

April 30, 1936 – December 8, 2025

Dave loved his home, job and family life, especially working in his garden and yard. He found joy: mowing the lawn, growing tomatoes and sitting on his beloved back porch for countless hours. He was fondly known by many as "The Tomato Man", spending hours with customers and neighbors discussing everything from tomato varieties to politics as well as the weather. He proudly acknowledged his title with a smile when it was mentioned in conversation His love for his tomato "empire' was only superseded by his love for his family.

Dave graduated from North High school in 1954 ,with many fond memories of his time there, He went on to receive a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The Ohio State University in 1959 enjoying memberships in: "Chi Epsilon Engineering Fraternity; the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the City of Columbus Building Commission, where he served for over 32 years, joining in 1993. (Five of those years as the Commissioner). He retired in 1997 after working for 38 years in the field. One of his most enjoyed monthly moments were meeting up with the men he had made friendships with at his "Investment Club", a group he had been a member of for over 45 years.

Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 62 years Charlene (Cordell) Morgan, and his father David and Myrtle (Lewis) Morgan. He is survived by his children: daughter Lori Morgan and son and daughter in law David and Melissa (Guenther) Morgan ; his grandchildren he loved dearly: Andrew Sotile; Tyler Plumley; Emilie Morgan and William Morgan ; his sister and brother in law Ruth (Morgan) and Bob Windle and nieces: Katie (Windle) and Brett Cohen ; Susie Windle and numerous other relatives and close friends, many whom shared the love of growing heirloom tomatoes.
