David Gerard Mudd

David Gerard Mudd, 63, went home to be with the Lord on January 27th, 2024. He was born on March 18, 1960. His loving parents were the late Mary Callista Mudd and Lawrence Mudd. David graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School. After that, he attended Christ the Nations Bible College and dedicated his life to helping others.
David was the owner of Mudd's Furniture, which was founded by his loving parents in 1951. He opened God's Outreach Inc. in 1995, which provided food and necessities to the tri-state area's food banks, schools, and much more! God's Outreach was instrumental with Katrina, Dakotas Indian Reservation, tornado relief and the Dismas Charities. David also participated in mission trips to England and South Africa.
David married his High School sweetheart, Deborah Ann Boarman. If David wasn't helping someone; he was spending time with his grandchildren, which was one of his very favorite things to do! He was a giant with a giant heart!
David was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Callista and Lawrence Mudd; and his brother, Raymond Mudd.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his children, Bridgette, April, Danielle, and David Lawrence Mudd (Shelby); grandchildren, Chase and Brice Coomes, Ivy Williams, Sophia, Channing and Jocelyn Wilson, and James David and Brooks Mudd. In addition, his work family at Mudd's Furniture and God's Outreach.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at The Father's House Church (Formerly Good Shepherd Church), 3031 Bittel Rd, Owensboro, KY 42301. Burial will follow at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, January 31 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and from 10:00am until the time of the service on Thursday at the church.
