Shirley Mehlbauer Yeiser, 92, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was born in Owensboro on January 22, 1933 to the late Bernard and Louise Mehlbauer. Shirley attended Blessed Mother Elementary School and was a 1951 graduate of St. Frances Academy. Shirley attended Brescia University and then worked at Farmer's Elevator. She also owned and operated Southend Craft and Hobby Store on New Hartford Road.

In her early years, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Tracy and her husband, Bobby. Shirley was a loving sister to her seven siblings. She had many hobbies including gardening, crafting, roller skating, bowling, and dancing. Shirley's passion was tending to her flowers. She also spent numerous hours painting and decorating her home. She was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.

Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her loving friend, Robert "Bob" Brown. Also preceded in death by six siblings, Bernard "Junie" Mehlbauer, Richard Mehlbauer, Bobby Mehlbauer, Joan Wimsatt, Patty Beard, and David Mehlbauer.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Tracy Cook and her husband, Bobby; her siblings Sandra Slaton and Mary Michael Ebelhar; and sisters-in-law Fay Mehlbauer and Lou Emma Morris. Shirley is also survived by her special friend and caretaker, Chris Gribble.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Resurrection Cemetery chapel.
