Ami Elizabeth Best Yeiser, 44, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2025, under the compassionate care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. After nearly ten years of illness, Ami fell asleep on Good Friday, only to awaken with her Lord in Heaven on Easter Sunday morning at dusk.

While Ami courageously battled a debilitating illness for nearly a decade, the remaining years of her life were defined by a profound dedication to others and an unwavering faith.

Born on October 3rd, 1980, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to Mike and Debbie Best, Ami's commitment to service was evident early in her life.

She graduated from Brescia University in 2009 and three years later earned a degree in elementary education and special education from Western Kentucky University. Ami dedicated her life to helping students with special needs through a selfless career teaching in the Daviess and McLean County Public Schools, specializing in autism and other learning difficulties. She also lovingly taught kindergarten and second grade until her health no longer allowed.

A devoted member of First Church of the Nazarene, Ami served in numerous capacities, including Sunday school teacher, children's church leader, youth group leader, and nursery caregiver. Earlier in her life, she even lovingly mowed the church lawn before her illness restricted her physical service. In the years she battled her illness, she continued to minister to others through prayer-filled cards and notes, reflecting her deep love for the Lord and her joy in serving others.

Her passions included sending thoughtful cards, teaching, and above all, being a mom. Ami cherished spending time with family, especially enjoying the recent arrival of her grandson, Joseph. Confined to her home in recent years, she found comfort in reading her Bible, the comforting presence of her loyal dog, watching The Price is Right with her dad, and lively discussions about WWE with her brother’s family.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Chelsea LaNae, her infant granddaughter, Emma Ruth, and her grandparents, known as Papaw, Pop, and Nana.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 24 years, Aaron Neal Yeiser; her son, Hagan Yeiser (Paige); her two daughters, Hope LaNae Yeiser and Hadli Beth Yeiser; her parents, Mike and Debbie Best; and her brother, Matt Best (Sharee). She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her grandmother, all of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Owensboro First Church of the Nazarene, 3400 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, KY, with burial following at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to Puzzle Pieces, honoring her lifelong passion for individuals with special needs.
