Mr. William Lee (Bill) Jury, age 77, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 7, 2025, with family by his side. Born January 31, 1948, to the late Joseph Leo Jury and Willie Mae (Reed) Jury, Bill was a devoted and loving husband, brother, uncle, friend and teacher. He radiated happiness, kindness, compassion and a bit of mischievousness with everyone around him.

While family was very important to him, a passion for the performing arts took hold very early in life. He took every opportunity, many times creating his own, to be 'on stage'. Bill spent most of his youth in Bardstown, KY, where his passion for the performing arts began and soared. He attended Centre College where he studied/completed his degree in Theatre Arts, followed by a MEd at Western Kentucky University. His 35 year teaching career began in Owensboro, KY, then culminated at Marietta High School in the Atlanta area of Georgia. There, he took part in the production/direction of plays at Cobb County Playhouse (Theatre on Main) in his local community of Acworth, Georgia. Talent, devotion and hard work earned Bill awards and acknowledgments at every level in his community. On Friday, May 23, 1997, Bill Jury Day was proclaimed by the Mayor of Marietta, GA due to his countless hours of work to improve and maintain the Drama Department at Marietta High School. He met and fell in love with Randy Chancey in 1999. They married, and made a wonderful life together, which included immediate and extended family, greatly loved longtime friends and the adoption of kitten littermates, most recently, Fred and Bert who are now in the hands of a loving niece.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his husband of many years, Randy Chancey, siblings, Edward Jury, Barbara Barnes, Bobby Jury and Betty Black, and nephews Steven Barnes and Donald Jury. He is survived by nephews, Ray Jury (Margie), David Jury (Tammy), nieces Amy Holley, Donna Wheeler (Larry), Becky Terrell (Lynn), Jill Johnson (Scott), Michelle Mingis (Steve) and Kristy Watkins (Steve), and a great many great nephews and nieces. The family would like to acknowledge special gratitude to Madison Black and Patrick Falvey who were significant care takers during Bill's illness.

The family of William Jury has chosen to honor his wishes of cremation with a private family service at a later date.
