In Loving Memory of David Daniel Nash
November 4, 1935 – April 12, 2025
David Daniel Nash was born on November 4, 1935, in Hood River, Oregon, to Daniel Marcus Nash and Ethel LaRue Nash. He proudly served his country for three years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.
While working on the Brownley Dam in Idaho, he married the love of his life, Patsy Lee Peterson, in New Meadows-in the local feed store, a story as unique as the man himself. They were married for 62 years, building a life full of hard work, love, and resilience.
David later worked at Harvey Aluminum until its closure, providing for his family with strength and dedication. Even after retirement, he stayed active and hardworking. He cleaned out abandoned homes, delivered manure spreaders across state lines, and enjoyed collecting scrap metal. He had a knack for keeping busy and a tireless work ethic that defined much of his life.
David also had a love for the outdoors and a talent for fishing. On March 28, 1983, he caught a 14-pound, 3.5-ounce walleye below the John Day Dam-a record-breaking catch that stood as the largest ever caught in the state of Oregon at the time.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy, and their four children: Marcus, Joni, Amy, and Robert.
A service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 AM at Hood River Valley Christian Church, with food and fellowship to follow. All are welcome to join in celebrating a life well lived and deeply loved.
