David Nez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. Warren Funeral Services Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel on Feb. 24, 2025.

David Anthony Nez, age 27, of Santan, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his beloved family on February 13, 2025. He was born on April 19, 1997, in Tempe, Arizona, to Michael Nez Sr. and Tanya Allison.

David was known for his selfless nature and his unwavering support of others. His strong sense of justice was evident in his willingness to speak up on behalf of those in need. He had a passion for film, particularly enjoying movies such as "Notorious" and "Hustle & Flow." In addition to his love for cinema, David was an enthusiastic participant in horseshoe tournaments and cherished his time spent playing with friends and family. His faith played a significant role in his life, and he was an active member of his church, having sung in the choir during his younger years. His love for family, friends, and cats showcased the warmth of his character.

David is survived by his parents, Michael Nez Sr. and Tanya Allison; his brothers, Michael Nez Jr. and Jered Lewis; and his grandparents, Bernaleen and Harold Evans Sr. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Jerriel Allison.

A wake in honor of David will take place on Friday, February 28th, at 6 PM at the District Four Multipurpose Building in Santan. Funeral services will be held the following morning at Stotonic Presbyterian Church at 6:30am, with burial to follow at Lower Santan Cemetery.

David will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and vibrant spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
