David Lynn Noonkester, 63 of Star City, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Baptist Health North Little Rock. David was born in Surry County North Carolina on June 30, 1961. Mr. Noonkester worked as a maintenance supervisor for A+ School Apparel and was of the Baptist faith.
David could fix anything, if he couldn't fix it, IT WAS BROKE. He loved hunting, fishing, wood working, riding motorcycles and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. David was kindhearted, and was known to step up and help those in need.
Preceding him in death was his father Jay W. Noonkester.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Debra Noonkester, mother, Pernie Arnold of Virginia, three sons; Johnathan David Noonkester of North Carolina, Jamie Lee Noonkester Sr. (Angie) of Star City, and Kristopher Kizer (Belinda) of Monticello, one daughter, Nicole Mercer (Justin) of Woodlawn, one brother, Barry Noonkester (Donna) of Virginia, and nine grandchildren; Brandon Noonkester, Jamie Lee Noonkester Jr., Lance Overby, Mason Kizer, Tyler Noonkester, Alyssa Overby, Savannah Kelems, Blake Kelems, Alayna Mercer, Father in law, Lewis Goins, and special friends; Wayne Bennett, and Kelly McKeown.
Funeral services at 10:00am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Bro. Tim Forman officiating. Visitation is 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, May 30, 2025 at Griffin Funeral Service. There will be no committal following the service as the family has chosen cremation. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Whipple, Tanya, Lacey and staff for their care.
