David Glen O'Brien was born on October 7, 1975 in El Paso, Texas and went home to be with The Lord on December 15, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 48.
David attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and was a talented, hard working, and well-rounded individual. He spent more than 15 years in the telecommunications industry working for T-Mobile. After this, he decided to follow his longtime curiosity and passion for driving into the world of long haul truck driving for Raider Express for a few years. In the final year of his life, he found the job he probably should have been doing all along as a construction manager for Lennar Homes. He loved just about anything outdoors, and became avid in the world of overlanding the past 8 years or so. He was a car enthusiast; if he could have raced cars for a living, that would have been fine with him. He enjoyed water sports and the lake; fishing with his little girl Sophie being one of his favorite pastimes. He was a gifted golfer, and always had a motorcycle or two in the garage at all times. When he wasn't on the water, rock crawling in his Lexus, riding his motorcycle, or mountain biking with Sophie, you could find him building things on his property. However, Dave loved nothing more than his wife and two sweet dogs, Simba and Sophie. David and Vicki have been members of Cross City Church in Euless, TX for almost 23 years now.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude L. O'Brien and his brother, Kevin O'Brien.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 25 years, Victoria "Vicki" O'Brien of Haslet, Texas; mother, Angie O'Brien of Ellis, Kansas; brother, Ronald O'Brien and wife, Patricia of Sachse, Texas; sister, Karen Smith of Chaparral, New Mexico; and sister, Tricia Pritchett and husband, Chad of Ellis, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends. He is also survived by his devoted fur babies, Sophie and Simba. Dave was a special soul that will be missed by many for a long time to come.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Cross City Church located at 1000 Airport Freeway, Euless, Texas 76039 followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 P.M. also at the Cross City Church.
