Tom Richardson

Thomas Michael "Tom" Richardson, age 75, of Laurens, Iowa, passed away on February 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on July 13, 1950, and was a lifelong resident of Laurens, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and community. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, a commitment that reflected his dedication and strong sense of responsibility. He was known for his steady presence, kind heart, and the love he had for those closest to him.

Tom was an avid bowler, enjoying both the competition and the camaraderie that came with time spent at the lanes. He also looked forward to and greatly enjoyed the Brothers' weekends, a special time filled with laughter, stories and time spent together. Above all else, Tom cherished spending time with his family, making memories through laughter, playing games, and simply being together - moments his family will hold close forever.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Nicole (Rob) Poage of Haslet, TX and Michelle (Mark) Nicholson of Bode; his brothers, Gene Richardson of Waterloo, Darrel Richardson of Laurens and Don Richardson of Laurens; several grandchildren; and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Lestel Richardson; his brother, Dean Richardson; and his sister, Sherryl Thayer.

A graveside service and military rites will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the Laurens Cemetery, and a Celebration of Tom's Life will follow the service at the 7-10 Lanes Bowling Alley in Laurens.

Tom will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew him.
