David Ogburn Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 28, 2026.
David E. Ogburn, a beloved son of Youngstown, Ohio, left this world on January 27, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on December 28, 1955, although a very private person, David lived a life replete of laughter and love, touching the hearts of others along his journey.

Growing up in Youngstown, David embraced the spirit of the community that surrounded him. A graduate of South High School, he pursued an associate's degree and went on to dedicate himself to a career as a truck driver in the transportation industry.

David is remembered fondly by his loving relatives, including his dear cousins Cherilyn (Greg) Herring, Atty Elvin (Mary Kay) Charity, Laura (Burince) Hairston, Jamie Fortune, Kelly Fortune, Robert Charity, and Minister Allen (Claudia) Charity, as well as his cherished aunt Laura Charity and uncle James Fortune, former Youngstown City Councilman. His life was woven into the fabric of their stories, and he will be deeply missed.

As the sun sets on this chapter, let us honor David's life, remembering the joys and love he spread throughout his time among us. As David crossed the celestial sands into eternity, he was reunited with his mother Irma (Fortune) Ogburn and father Harold Ogburn.

In honoring David's life, an intimate memorial service will be held by his family. The private celebration will acknowledge the indelible mark he left upon those who knew him closely. As we bid farewell, let us hold tight to the memories David created and the love he shared. The essence of David's spirit will forever remain embedded in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of David E. Ogburn elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, 330.782.8500.
