David Oliver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stockbridge Funeral Home LLC - Exeter on Jan. 6, 2026.
David A.Oliver passed away unexpectedly at home on December 14th, 2025.
He was predeceased by his beloved son Terence Brian; "Terry's Way" in Exeter is named after
him, thanks to David.

Also by his parents June (Dobson) Oliver and Evan Oliver, his brother Griffith, and stepfather
Huntley Holmes (Red).

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise, favorite aunt, Virginia Rodriguez (Ginger), cousins
Deborah Dobson Bach and Scott Dobson and their families, and other extended family.
In England, by his brother-in-law Colin Caudell and wife Linda, their daughters Kirsty Caudell,
Justine Davies and Sammy Stokes, and their families.

David was born in Westhaven, Connecticut, attended high school in Orange, Connecticut, and
college at Columbia University, NYC.

Throughout his life, David had a broad range of interests including baseball, fishing, rock
hunting, mycology and always an avid love of history. When he related an event from the past it
was with such detail, it came alive for the listener.
He was thrilled to visit Stonehenge, and afterwards enjoyed exploring his heritage in Wales.
In France, he visited pre-historic sites and also the place where his father had been captured
and held prisoner during WWII.

David loved radios and after a trip to Hong Kong, where he discovered a short wave radio for
the car not available in the USA, he started a business importing them. He also worked as a
chef and at Lucent Technologies in N. Andover, MA.
He was extremely health conscious, credited CBD with helping him quit smoking and tried to
help others quit.

David was so good with animals and his dogs adored him.
He loved trees, all wildlife and birds in particular - turkeys to hummingbirds. Bluebirds were a
delight but his favorites were the chickadees.
He always stopped for injured animals in the road. He raised and released an orphaned baby
skunk called "Stinky".

His favorite pastime was driving his NA Miata called "Mia". No destination needed, just a
passion for the drive itself.

He maintained his cars and was always great at innovative solutions.
David was extremely patriotic with strong, independent, political views. He had a terrific sense of
humor and an engaging laugh. He always accepted people just as they were.
David and Denise were together for 54 years. He was a loving, thoughtful husband, always
complimenting Denise and buying her presents.
David is so dearly missed.
