Nancy Belanger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stockbridge Funeral Home LLC - Exeter on Feb. 2, 2026.
Nancy Lee (Provost) Belanger passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1944 in Laconia NH and was a 1962 graduate of Concord High School, Concord NH.

In 1968, Nancy moved to Exeter, the community where she found her home. There, she raised two children and ultimately met the love of her life, Robert Belanger. They were married in 1974. As a young family, they enjoyed taking rides to the beach, camping, and sports.

In 1976, Carrier Jewelers relocated their successful business from Haverhill, MA to Exeter NH. It didn't take much for the Carriers to persuade Nancy to transition from her then-position at Lopardo's Jewelers to Carrier's – a decision that forged a 30-plus year career as a staple in the community. Nancy was a favorite among Carriers' customers. Patrons could always count on seeing that beautiful smiling face to greet them, have a pleasant conversation, and ultimately guide them in selecting the perfect gift. Nancy was not only amazing at her profession, she was a positive source of energy and an absolute ray of sunshine.

Beginning in 1968, Nancy was heavily involved with the Exeter Area Junior Women's Club (EAJWC). At one point, she was their longest-standing member with more than 50 years of service. It was there that she continued to grow her village, developing lifelong friends. Many of these friends became more like sisters, creating bonds that stood the test of time. Nancy truly enjoyed the EAJWC conferences and trips to different cities - trips that created cherished memories with her inner circle of "sisters." North Conway was always a favorite spot, but never to be forgotten were the incredible visits to the Grand Canyon, New York City, and more. She loved traveling with "her girls."

In 2005, Carrier Jewelers closed, and Nancy transitioned briefly to a part-time job at McFarland Ford. She ultimately landed in her final place of employment at Exeter Hospital as in Intake Coordinator in Outpatient Surgery. Nancy truly loved working there until her retirement in 2017.

She now had the time to enjoy the things she loved the most: spending time with her husband and taking rides in the country up the coast of Maine. Booth Bay was always a favorite, as well as camping with family friends at Cozy Pond, bingo nights, and dancing. She was a terrific dancer.

Her grandchildren Cameron, Kendall, Kadyn, Bryan, Kevin, and Amber were always her dearest joys. She was so proud of them and all of their accomplishments. Nancy's visits with her grandchildren were precious, and her favorite words to each of them, "Love you, Darlin'" will remain in their hearts and minds forever.

Nancy lived a simple life and always greeted those she met with a dazzling smile and upbeat conversation. She loved to talk and would draw you in with laughter, banter, and of course, that amazing smile. She will forever be remembered as a beautiful person who always chose to give rather than receive.

Nancy was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Robert Belanger (2024), and her daughter Denise (2009). She leaves behind her son Kevin Belanger, his wife Christine (Howshan) Belanger of Haverhill, MA, and their three children Cameron, Kendall, and Kadyn, as well as Denise's children, Bryan Carroll of Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin Carroll of Jacksonville, FL, and Amber Carroll of St. Augustine, FL.

Nancy will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace, and may her friends and family know that she is watching over all of us and smiling.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home on February 5th from 4-6pm with a funeral service on February 6th at 11am followed by a graveside service that will be held at the Exeter cemetery.

Nancy was our mom's roommate, and we couldn't have asked for a better roommate. Nancy always had a smile on her face and was always happy to see people. She loved her family and would always talk about her family and how proud she was of them, and also how she taught her son to dance. Oh how she loved to dance too. Our whole family enjoyed seeing her when we would visit with our mom. May Nancy rest in peace and be dancing again with her husband. Our sincerest condolences to her entire family that you all find peace and comfort in the beautiful memories that will last forever. Sincerely, Theresa Gray's Family
