David Leland Olsen, 70, a resident of the Hillsboro, Oregon community passed away on September 3, 2025 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

David was born in Salt Lake City, UT on December 18, 1954. He was the third of four children born to Dee and Marilyn (Flint) Olsen. David was raised in Salt Lake City until his teenage years when his family moved to Boise, ID. He attended Boise High School followed by DeVry University.

In 1979 David was married and had a son, Christopher.

David moved to Hillsboro for work at Intel where he held various patents.

David was an avid participant in remote control airplanes and was on the Board of Directors for OMAS. He had his pilot license and enjoyed flying planes and gliders. David most loved spending time with his son, riding dirt bikes together and watching Chris, race motocross.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Marilyn, son Christopher and infant sister Delinda Olsen.

He is survived by sisters; Debbie and John Gibbs and Doralee Olsen, both of St. Louis, daughter in law Emily of Salem, niece Lisa, nephew Greg, four great nieces and nephews; Ella, Levi, Maci and Beckett, all of St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to Cure TBM a cause dear to his heart for his sister, Debbie.
