Hazel Mae Pierce, 74, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on August 24, 2025 at her home.

Hazel was born in Antigo, Wi on April 2, 1951. She was the third of six children born to Merril and Mercedes (Mosher) Bentley. Hazel was raised in Antigo until age 13 when her family moved to Bay City. She graduated from Neah-Kah-Nie high school, with the Class of 1969.

Hazel met her future husband, Timothy Pierce, in high school. They were united in marriage on September 12, 1970. They lived in Seaside OR until 1971 when Timothy joined the United States Air Force. Together they had a son, Michael.

Hazel and her family moved around while Timothy served in the Air Force. They spent four years in Germany and six years in Rome, NY before settling down in Hillsboro in 1981.

She also enjoyed cooking and cake decorating. She had a knack for event planning and loved decorating for all holidays and hosting family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her cat, Bella.

She is preceded by her parents, Merril and Mercedes.
