David Olszewski, resident of Worthington, OH, passed away April 10,2024. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann ; children Julia Olszewski, and Edward Olszewski (Elizabeth Norton); sister Nancy Danner (Danny); and grandchildren Eloise and Henry Olszewski. David grew up in Parma, Ohio, the son of the late John J Olszewski and Helen Olszewski and brother to Nancy, and the late John F and Robert. He graduated from St. Ignatius High school in Cleveland. He received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University. David met Ann, his wife to be, while working at the Cleveland Public Library before beginning a long career as a computer programmer/data analyst, mostly spent with Key Bank. David raised his children and spent most of his life in Cleveland Heights before moving to Worthington, where his love for his grandchildren could not be matched. David had many talents and diverse interests. He was a keen tennis player, before switching to pickleball in retirement. His diverse interests included music, reading, travel, bike riding, history and outdoor activities. He was a lifelong and loyal fan of Cleveland sports teams.

Dave was such a gentleman in the true sense of the word! We often talked about our lives outside work and his love of family, travel, Jane Austen, visits to New York and Chicago with Ann, Cleveland and its history, along with stories of "the grands" was always entertaining. He was generous with his time and shared his knowledge (whether coding or the best places to eat in NYC) freely. I offer my deep condolences to all of Dave's family at this time of loss.

My best friend since the day I walked into H-6 at Ameritrust in June 1985. Dave was a great guy someone you could count on anytime. He will be missed.

I worked with Dave for the first 10 years of my career as a programmer, and he was great with teaching me new things and helping me with complex SAS jobs. He was also a delightful person and I enjoyed sitting next to him and chatting. Some memories: he kept a box of coffee beans on his desk and would open them and smell them from time to time, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't a coffee drinker. He was an Anglophile and loved Sherlock Holmes, as do I. He could have been a travel agent as he meticulously planned his overseas trips. He loved the Chelsea soccer team. I once took a trip to Pittsburgh and had a picture I took of the city on my screen saver, and he took offense as a Cleveland fan (jokingly). He had an interesting sneeze that would go on for awhile. He talked a lot about his family and obviously loved them very much. All around he was a fantastic fellow and everyone at Key will miss him greatly.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. I worked with Dave for many years at Key Bank. He was one of the people you could depend on too offer different angles on how to get something done, debug something unusual or or develop something that hadn't been done before. Great resource.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dave and I worked together at KeyBank for over 30 years. He had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
