We are sad to inform you of the passing of David Ottenberg, of Cherry Hill, NJ on February 27, 2023 at the age of 91. He is survived by his children Mat (Howard) Winer and Larry (Debbie) and Howard (Susan) Ottenberg as well as his grandchildren Sarah, Aaron, Danielle and Jessica.
David lived a full life, and through it all, nothing was more important to him than family. He grew up in Asbury Park, NJ and enjoyed sharing stories about his house on 7th Ave and his adventures with his sister Doris. After graduating high school, David enlisted in the Army where he furthered his expertise with electronics and as a radio operator – skills that he used his whole life. This also translated into his passion for amateur radio and expertise in Morse code (more than 90 words a minute)
David met Sandy, at a 20-30 dance. They met and were married within six months. They were together for 60 years – holding hands and saying, "I love you," every day until Sandy died in June 2021.
David was an innately caring and good person. Wherever he visited and lived, people always shared, "we love your father, he is the sweetest." Family was everything to him and his last spoken words were to tell his children and grandchildren, "l love you all, god bless you all." He is remembered as a "hands on" father who made meals, drove the kids to activities and showed up whenever needed – no matter how small the issue or how far the drive. He will be missed..--. /.-.. --- -. /-.-- ---..- / -...- -..
A graveside service will be held at Beth El Cemetery in Neptune, NJ where David will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Sandy and in close proximity to his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Very sad as another radio person has left us. Dave came up to my QTH ( home ) in the late 80s as we worked on radio equipment. Met Dave at several radio shows after that. Nice fellow and friend. RIP. K2IJY. Dave Schneider Shokan, New York
