David Pace Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 21, 2026.
David Pace was born on August 6, 1930, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Henry David

Pace and Ruth Helena Crane. He was the eldest of four children, lovingly paving the

way for his sister, Mary Lou, and his brothers, Richard and Donald. David attended

Weymouth High School and graduated with the Class of 1948.

In 1950, David answered the call to serve his country and was recruited into the United

States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, where he

worked on LVTA tanks, an experience he carried with pride throughout his life.

Following his military service, David moved to California, first settling in San Francisco

and later in San Jose with his first love Jeane. There, he began a long and dedicated

career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked faithfully for 32 years

before retiring.

In 1981, David was fortunate to find love again and married Dalia, together, they built a

life rooted in family and devotion. In 1995, they made their home in Hollister, California,

where they helped raise their granddaughter and created many cherished memories.

David Pace departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was preceded in

death by his parents, Henry and Ruth, his brothers, Richard and Donald, his first wife

Jean Marie and his son David.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Dalia Pace of Hollister, California; his

stepson and daughter, Anthony Cravens and Doris Scherschel of San Jose, California;

his granddaughters, Kelli Gambee of Boulder, Colorado, and Cassandra Pace of

Morgan Hill, California; his sister, Mary Lou Raples of Weymouth, Massachusetts; and a

host of other relatives and dear friends.

David will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, and the

steady, hardworking life he led. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and

loved him.
