David Pacetti Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home on Sep. 7, 2024.
David Francis Pacetti passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Nursing Home three days after celebrating his 81st birthday.
Born on August 29, 1943, at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida, David was the youngest of six children of Edward F. and Estelle Parker Pacetti. St. Augustine was not just his birthplace but also the city he cherished and called home throughout his life.
David graduated from Hastings High School in May 1961 and shortly thereafter, in September, joined the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. During his military service, he was stationed at Fort Bragg and rose to the rank of E4. His time in the Army was a point of pride for him, as he embraced the camaraderie and responsibility of serving his country
.
David quickly established himself as a business leader with a career in the real estate industry after returning to St. Augustine; in 1974, he was named the President of the St. Augustine/St. John's County Board of Realtors and, in 1983, was an organizing director of Prosperity Bank of St. Augustine transitioning to the Board of Directors from 1984 to 1995. Though David enjoyed a long and successful career in real estate, his true passion was teaching. His love for history was surpassed only by his dedication to biblical studies. As a layman minister, he shared his knowledge on the radio and established a televised Bible-teaching ministry on Jacksonville's WNFT 47. His unwavering commitment to faith led him to author the book Sozo - What It Means to Be Saved in 1985, a deep exploration of salvation that reflected his never-ending search for truth. He earned a bachelor's in biblical studies from Zoe Bible College in 1987.
A natural public speaker, David had the unique gift of captivating a room while making each person in it feel seen and valued. His vibrant personality, warmth and charisma, and depth of wisdom made him a trusted confidant to many. He spent countless hours offering encouragement and guidance to friends during difficult times, always ready with an open heart and a listening ear.
In 1971, David married Charlotte Henry, and together, they created a warm home that was always welcome to family and friends on Valencia Street. Their love and partnership were evident in the nurturing environment they built for their beloved son, Abe, born in April 1974. David's devotion to his family was unwavering, and he treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, Emily Summers and Kade Augustus Pacetti. He considered his family his most significant accomplishment and poured his heart into nurturing and supporting them.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Estelle Pacetti, his sister, Barbara Cupples, his brother, Roland Pacetti, and his former wife, Charlotte. He is survived by his sisters, Jeneane Lagasse and Diana Siddons; his brother and best friend, Terry Pacetti (Joyce); sister-in-law, Glenda Pacetti; his son, Abe Pacetti (Ashley); and his grandchildren, Emily Summers and Kade Augustus Pacetti, along with many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at Destiny Church on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The service will be a reflection of David's life, filled with music, shared memories, and words of comfort. The family will receive guests at 10:00 A.M., with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M., officiated by Pastor Donovan Tinsley. A reception with light refreshments will follow the service, and a private graveside service for the family will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences during this difficult time. David's legacy of faith, friendship, and love will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched through his ministry and the enduring bonds of family and friendship.
