David Page Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hardesty Funeral Home - Gambrills on Dec. 16, 2025.
David Anthony Page Sr., 85, of Odenton, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday,
December 14 surrounded by family and friends holding his hands. Dave was born in
Pittsburgh, PA on November 8, 1940, the son of Anthony and Mildred Page.
Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dell Rita Page. He is survived by his
children Deborah Lynn Hensley; David Anthony Page Jr (and his wife, Dawn); Daniel
Patrick Page (and his wife, Alice); Diane Marie Pope (and her husband, Dale); and
Dustin Michael Page (and his wife, Thao Nguyen). Also survived by his grandchildren
Allison Nicole Pope, Andrew Christopher Pope (and his wife, Tara), Kristen Marie
(Hensley) Barkley (and her wife, Brianna), Lauren Paige (Hensley) Broyles, Connor
Nguyen Page, and Emma Nguyen Page; and seven great-grandchildren, Ellie Grace
Broyles, Ethan Thomas Broyles, Graham James Barkley, Colton Dell Pope, Kylie,
Brielle Simpson, Kaison Andr'e Simpson, and Kamella Milena Simpson.
Dave graduated from St. Michael's High School, South Side, Pittsburgh, PA in June
1958. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in January 1960, serving as a voice
processing technician. He married Dell on November 23, 1963 and she joined him in
West Berlin, Germany. Over his 25 year Air Force career (15 enlisted, 10
commissioned), he was stationed in Turkey, Germany, Texas, Maryland, Thailand, and
Florida. After retiring as a Captain in 1984, his family settled in Gambrills, MD, where he
continued his work in cryptology analysis in the civilian sector, until he retired from
Boeing in 1998.
Dave's life-long work with the church saw him take on many different roles over the
years. At St. Joseph Parish, he spent time as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Parish
Council member, RCIA director, as well as volunteering for the 'Kitchen Krew',
Wednesday Bingo, and various other functions. His love for God and the church led to
his study in the Deaconate program and ordination in 1999. Deacon Dave served on
the altar for over 25 years, while also performing many baptisms and presiding over
weddings and funerals.
His love for his wife Dell, their five children, six grandchildren, and three great-
grandchildren was unmatched, and his pride for them will be forever remembered.
Visitation will be at Hardesty's on Sunday, December 21, 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odenton on Monday,
December 22 at 10:00 A.M. The burial will occur at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery
at 11:30 P.M.

Dave and Dell were two of the nicest, sweetest, loving people at St Joseph Catholic Church, Odenton. They
came into our lives through church
(Mass), and became our friends. He never failed to greet me with hug, and then ask me about my granddaughter, Piper, who he baptized before she had open heart surgery at just two months old. Dave and Dell kept her in their prayers. I will add Dave name to Dell´s on my list of blessed people that I pray for.
