David Truman Parr

David Truman Parr, 79, of Waelder, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Gonzales, Texas.
David was born on November 21, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to Truman Parr and Frances Parr. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He served for just over a year, including a tour in the Pacific Ocean, and was honorably discharged. Following his time in service, he began his career in drafting at Texas Instruments in Austin.
David and Sandra ("Sandy") raised their two sons, Brian and Steven, in Austin. They spent most weekends at the family farm outside of Waelder, where David helped his family raise cattle on the property. David and Sandra shared 52 years of marriage until her passing in 2024. After retirement, David and Sandy moved to the family farm, where he enjoyed working cattle and building wood and metal projects in his shop. He was extremely proud of the shop and the house he and Sandy built, and he loved having people over to see it.
David was preceded in death by his father, Truman Parr; his mother, Frances Parr; his wife, Sandra Parr; and his brother, Richard Parr. He is survived by his sons, Brian Parr and wife Christy Parr, and Steven Parr and wife Staci Parr; and his grandchildren Kristopher Parr, Madeleine Parr, Zoey Parr, Laekyn Parr, Brendan Parr, and Jack Parr.
Visitation will be held 5:00–7:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Waelder Cemetery.
David's greatest pride was his family, and his steady love and hard work will live on in all who were lucky enough to share life with him.
