David Parratt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ocean County Cremation Service - Toms River on Dec. 11, 2025.
David Eugene Michael Parratt

("Dave", "Davey", "Pop")

05/04/1946 – 12/03/2025

Born at the Muncy Valley Hospital in Williamsport, PA Dave was one of six siblings owning the

4th position in the line-up. While still an infant David relocated with his parents Rita and Wendall

Parratt and siblings to Asbury Park, NJ.

Growing up in Asbury Park he played little league baseball, was a locker boy at the Monte Carlo

Pool and operated various rides on the boardwalk.

Dave enjoyed trips to De Bruce, Sullivan County, NY amidst the Catskill Mountains trapping and

hunting with his brothers, camping and visiting family and friends.

He was a graduate of Asbury Park High School's Class of 64' and in his sophomore year there

met his high school sweetheart and future wife Darriel ("Dee") Sadowski.

After graduation Dave worked for the Danelectro Company in Neptune City before joining the

United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 2250 out of Red Bank, NJ.

Dave married his high school sweetheart Dee in July of 1968. They lived together in Asbury Park

then Ocean Twp. In 1989 they moved to Jackson Twp, where they were blessed to be

surrounded by neighbors who became much more than neighbors, they were family. It was in

their Jackson Twp residence that Dave passed peacefully in the arms of his loving family.

Dave took pride in his work and his art as a master craftsman and was for 40 years a union

carpenter before retiring in 2006.

Dave championed labor rights as integral to human rights, advocating for economic justice and

linking labor rights to civil rights.

Active with the Ocean Twp Little League as a coach, Dave was an advocate for youth sports and

girls and women's athletics.

He was a lover of nature, arts and sciences. Dave was an artist who held a vision and crafted

that exquisite vision into reality whether it was a new deck, a chair, a table or the newest high-

rise building in the tri-state area.

A lover of the sciences he was always ready with an experiment to demonstrate the laws of

nature in action, and both children had memorized the planets in the solar system in order

from the sun by the time they could talk.

Dave was a fan of the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He worked hard, had a big

heart, a helping hand and deep words of wisdom.

Dave was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and

friend. Death leaves a heartache nothing can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest

in peace and love Dave.

David was predeceased by his beloved wife Darriel E. Parratt, his parents Rita and Wendell

Parratt, his siblings Stephen Parratt and Ron Haynes, Thomas Parratt, Stanley Parratt and

Margaret Clayton Parratt and his son in law Victor Otterbine DO.

David is survived by his daughter Adrienne A. Parratt of Jackson, NJ, son David P. Parratt and

daughter in law Laura Lobosco of Jackson, NJ, granddaughter Deedra Lobosco and great

grandchildren Shawn, Alexandria and Tyler of Howell, NJ, granddaughter Jessica E. Otterbine

and grandson Kevin V. Otterbine both of Philadelphia, PA, brother Phillip Parratt and wife

Kathleen Hurst Parratt Mays Landing, NJ, sister Mary Rock and husband Kenneth Rock Apollo,

PA, and grandniece Alexis Fry of Jackson, NJ and more family and friends.
