Robert James Brus

ROBERT JAMES BRUS, 89, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson Twp. He was born in New York, NY and resided in Blauvelt, NY prior to settling in Jackson Twp 23 years ago.

Robert was a proud officer of the New York City Police Department, protecting and serving the Upper West Side for 25 years prior to his retirement. He finished his working career with the United States Postal Service. After retiring he enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

He will be remembered for his easy smile, kind spirit and his love of life.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Augustine and Mary Brus. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara; his loving children, Robert Brus and his wife, Colette of Kennent Square, PA, Jason Brus of Stamford, CT and Jill O'Leary and her husband, Chris of Manasquan, NJ; and by his grandchildren, Robert III, Victoria, Harrison, Lauren, Kate, Contessa and Isabella.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. Please gather at 9:45 AM at the church. Entombment will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, 1610 Allenwood Rd., Wall Twp., NJ. Arrangements are under the care of the GEORGE S.
